Moskau Enlisted - Ensign Tom

I was talking with ~Kuroyo19 yesterday that I haven’t given Tom much love, provided he is a brand new character. I got some sudden inspiration to draw him, so I did.

Tom is a bit too big for his britches, has a knack for troubleshooting and fixing things, is known for his potty mouth, ''young and stupid’’, can be easily provoked, and he can be suave when he needs to be.

He’s friendly most of the time, but some days it doesn’t take much to set him off. >.<
He loves to hear about glorious battles, tell his own stories, and swap daily news about the Moskau and its crew. He is fairly social off duty, but other than cursing and the inductor coils when they won’t cooperate, and the occasional short chat with Mira or Stoo, he keeps his lips shut. Stoo is one of his closest friends, next to Mira. They love to talk about mechanics and all the stubborn problems they’ve come across in machinery, you know… geeky engineer stuff. Their friendship was kind of unexpected because when Tom saw Meeka and Mira go at it, he doubted that Stoo would be any different. It wasn’t until he was sent with Stoo to go fix a transit box in one of the bulkheads did he realize that Stoo was different. It didn’t take long after that before they started spending time together off duty. [Meeka and Tom are about the only two people that Stoo will open up to and actually have a conversation with.]

Tom starts out his career on Moskau getting in almost constant trouble, Sasha ends up not knowing how to punish him after a while. Sasha’s chief of security, K’Trel straightens him out, as well as Mira. She gets tired of seeing him in the brig week after week. Not to mention that Tom and Mira are decent friends, as well as Mira being his superior officer in engineering.

I have some concept sketches done of the interior of Moskau that I would like to submit, but I’m going to wait until I have a few more. Slowly, this is all coming together.

I might do a series of these, all of the Battleship Moskau crew. What do you think?
